The Bee Project

Historically, beekeepers in rural villages have used the bark from trees to make hives which leaves trees vulnerable to disease. We offer our clients the opportunity to bring in sustainable bee boxes, which have been proven to improve crop yields by up to 300%, to villages that have had a long tradition of bee keeping.  We have set up a program to for tourists to bring bee boxes made from sustainable forests that you will buy from a local vendor in Kondoa town.  Sustainable Beekeeping is non-extractive and promotes environmental conservation, for an intact environment.

You will spend the afternoon in a small village learning about bees and experiencing village life.  In the evening you will harvest honey with a group of bee-keepers in the village who will collect the honey.  That evening you will sleep in a mud hut.
